how long does it take to port your number from cricket to verizon?

I am currently porting my cricket phone number to Verizon. It has been about 6 hours and it has not transferred yet. My cricket phone is useless, something I did not anticipate. Once the port is complete I will post how long it took. Instructions, call Verizon. Have your cricket account number ready as well as your pin number. Key: Do not cancel your cricket phone until you have contacted Verizon to port over number. This will mess you up, call Verizon first and they will take care of the rest.

Update..... It took over 48 hours. The number was portered to my jetpack hotspot thus creating a mess. My advice is too simple port your number in the store you buy your phone.
